Basara

Basar or Basara is a census town in Adilabad district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Basara is popular in India because of Saraswathi temple, which is only such temple in entire India.

The Saraswathy Temple in Basar is a unique temple of Saraswati, the Hindu Goddess of Knowledge and Learning. Children are brought here to do the learning ceremony called Akshara Abyasam (in Telugu, this means "alphabet exercise").

India, “The land of temples” has its own unique legend telling a fascinating story about its existence. Each legend is powerful enough to revive faith even in a non-believer. Amongst such numerous legendary temples in India, the temple of Gnana Saraswati at Basar (A.P) holds a prominent place.
